Written Prescription

Your veterinary surgeon may prescribe POM-Vs only for animals under their care. You may obtain repeat Prescription Only Medicines, Category V, (POM-Vs) from your veterinary surgery OR as a written prescription and obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgery or a pharmacy.

Written Prescriptions will be emailed directly to your online pharmacy. We will require the order number and email address to send this.

The standard charge for a Written Prescription is £20.00 per medication

A prescription may not be appropriate if your animal in an in-patient or immediate treatment is necessary.

You will be informed, on request, of the price of any medicine that may be dispensed for your animal.

The general policy of Rouken Glen Veterinary Surgery is to re assess patients requiring repeat prescriptions every 6 – 12 months, but this may vary with individual circumstances. Due to RCVS guidelines a physical examination of a pet must be every time any antibiotics, antifungals, antivirals and parasitides are prescribed.

The standard charge for a repeat prescription examination is £32.00.

Further information on the prices of medicines is available on request.
